The Hero Shooter Marvel Rivals Unabashedly Introduces the New Lady Loki Outfit

While some may dismiss Marvel Rivals as an imitation of Overwatch, developer NetEase earns credit for discovering creative ways to engage its unabashedly thirsty audience. Introducing Lady Loki, a completely new skin for the current Strategist hero Loki, providing players a comics-accurate version of the Norse deity.

Not Hela, But Loki

Despite earlier predictions and fears, the highly anticipated Lady Loki costume is definitely not a skin for Hela. Rather, it is a full-on visual overhaul of Loki the character, complete with new voice lines. Judging by the reveal trailer, Lady Loki retains the full suite of Loki's core abilities: his projectile attack, Deception, and his clone ability. The sole difference is her striking new look, designed to appeal to an audience eager to spend their Lattice.

A Look and Sound in Action

Here is a look at Lady Loki in action, accompanied by a sample of her VO, performed by voice actor Abby Trott. Notably Trott is also the voice behind Magik in Marvel Rivals.

Her lines and visual flair bring a new dynamic to the familiar kit.

Opening the Door to Possibilities

Now that NetEase has opened the door with this gender-bent skin for Loki, the Marvel Rivals community is busy considering similar swaps. Popular ideas currently range from:

• The character Gwenpool as the upcoming Deadpool.
• Jane Foster as Thor.
• Spider-Gwen as Spider-Woman.

The big question remains: Will NetEase have the guts to introduce less mainstream alternate versions, such as one-time Ms. Marvel Sharon Ventura as She-Thing? That will probably depend on player requests!
